Eduardo Mendoza was the 2016 recipient of the Cervantes Prize, the most prestigious literary award in Spain. He is a playwright, essayist and short story writer, but is probably best known in the English-speaking world for his novels, such as the satirical cult classic No Word from Gurb and his most recent effort, An Englishman in Madrid (Quercus) - an engrossing thriller whose hero, a young art dealer, is summoned to Madrid just before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War to authenticate a disputed Velázquez.

Eduardo Mendoza will be at the shop to discuss his life and work with his English translator, Nick Caistor.

This event is in association with Cervantes Institute London.
